Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’m slightly concerned that the way this app works means it doesn’t show people the rest of the newsletter attached to the video! But we’ll see 😂
Thanks Sam. I confess the app isn’t 100% intuitive but like you I’m learning my way around it. Hitting the ‘READ IN APP’ link from email notification takes you to the newsletter with the video at the top and opening in a browser window (Safari in my case) also reveals the same. The fact you can create a newsletter with embeded video (the reverse of anything YouTube offers) and include images is an excellent in my opinion.
Also, as all your content is automatically saved in your channel it makes retrospective reading/viewing a doddle. I love how content is building into a library-like depository, free from advertising and especially that the live broadcasts are accessible post event.
I’m guessing you’re constrained to portrait mode only? Not a criticism of your beautiful film making by the way!
I can’t wait for the 7th of November. I hope you’re already busy on the next book! 😇
That's great to know, thank you Martin. I don't see my emails in my inbox unless I send a preview ahead of publication, and even that doesn't show me exactly how it arrives for you. So that's good to know!
Regarding video in portrait, some of my old footage was filmed this way up for reels and doesn't work cropped for landscape, so alas I'm stuck with it like that for now. For new projects I am starting to film in landscape too. I might even go wild and film square! Or widescreen for some extra cinematic shots of gardening and ferments haha. I never take feedback as a criticism, and even criticism is only a chance to improve if you're tough enough to embrace it!
Thanks Sam. If you’d like me to forward a copy of each of your emails as I receive them just message me with an address.
It’s great to hear you’re going to experiment with filming formats. It’s impossible to know what orientation your audience view it as (and not knowing what colour profile someone is using) so shooting whatever’s right for the subject and what ever gives you the most fun seems like a great idea!
What really works well in my opinion is your use of natural light. It really makes your film and photography ooze with quality and especially suits your fermentations. If the images in your new book are as stunning as the ones in ‘The Nature Of Food’ I’m likely to lick the pages! 😋🤣
Happy apple day everyone!
What a joyous film 🍎 Thanks for sharing and happy fermenting to you and the orchardeers ! 🫧
